As a Sith Lord and loyal apprentice of Darth Sidious, the ferocious Lord Maul is a dark shadow of a character, more lethal in battle than all but the most powerful Jedi. Wearing a black cloak and with his face covered in swirling red and black tattoos and his head with horns on it, he strikes fear into you just by looking at him. Fear, fear is his ally, for fear attracts the fearful, the strong, the weak, the innocent, and the corrupt. He can defeat you by stiking fear into you alone.
His Vehicle, the Sith Infiltrator is almost undetectable. In its hold it stores sophisticated probe droids, an array of secret weapons, and the amazingly maneuverable Sith speeder bike. Although the Sith speeder bike has no weapons, shields, or sensors, the Sith speeder is a sight to fear as it is astonishingly fast and usually piloted by the dreaded Drath Maul.
His weapon, the Sith Saber, a powerful lightsaber with blades extending on both ends, making it difficult to use. However Maul is very well trained and can use this great weapon with ease. Making him a formidable opponent in battle for more than 1 enemy at a time.
Darth Maul was the shadowy yet powerful presence marking the return of the Sith to the galaxy after 4000 years. Maul, whose real name was Khameir Sarin, was from a species called the Zabrak from the planet of Iridonia. Discovered by Sith Lord Darth Sidious when he was only twelve years old, Sidious began training the young Sarin in the black arts, eventually giving him the name Darth Maul.
Maul's first public appearance was to the Trade Federation as the apprentice of Sidious. At the start of the Trade Federation invasion of Naboo, Sidious sent Maul out to find and destroy the two Jedi ambassadors to the Federation, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi. Maul cornered Jinn on the planet of Tatooine, but Jinn escaped with the help of the Naboo and Obi-Wan, jumping up on the closing landing ramp of his ship as he dueled with Maul. Maul was then sent by Sidious to Naboo itself to keep an eye on the leaders of the Trade Federation. However, Jinn and Kenobi were also headed to Naboo, to bring back the queen of Naboo and to free the planet from Federation control.
Both Kenobi and Jinn encountered Maul once more, and faced the Sith Lord's double-bladed lightsaber with their own. Reaching a series of sliding force field doors, Maul waited until Kenobi was trapped and then struck down Jinn. Enraged, Kenobi charged Maul and cut him in half, sending his body tumbling down a ventilation shaft.
Is this the end of Darth Maul? Or will he be back? Never underestimate the power of the Dark-Side. While Maul may appear to be dead, that doesn't mean that he is.
